MORE EBN Sentinel
Readers
Role
of a Sentinel Reader
NB: Sentinel readers must be practicing nurses, nurse teachers, or nurse managers.
As
a Sentinel Reader, you will be sent a notice by email that you
have an article to rate in MORE EBN. These articles will match
your clincial interests. You can control the maximum number of
articles sent each month (from 1 to infinity!).
As a Sentinel Reader, you will look over the articles online and
rate them on 2 scales:
- one for relevance to your clinical specialty
- one for newsworthiness (i.e., is this "news" or something you already know?)
We'll collate
your ratings with those of at least 2 other sentinel readers and use your ratings
to:
- show you how
other nurses in your specialty rated these articles
- provide you
with the highest rated articles in your specialty
- produce additional
products as outlined in How ratings
are used
You are also invited to comment on the article, if you wish, but please
take care if you do.
- We are most
interested in your thoughts about clinical application:
Can the results of the study or review be used now? If so, in what
clinical circumstances?
- If you choose
to comment on the research methods of a study, please be very sure
that your comments are accurate and methodologically sound
- Raters' comments
that appear libelous, slanderous, blasphemous, or thoughtless in
the opinion of the MORE staff will not be used!
- The names of raters, or any information that might identify individual raters, will not be included in the materal that is forwarded to publishers or end-users.
We look forward to working with you! |
